Early life of Ruth Kadiri

Ruth was born on March 24, 1988 in Benin City. Many people have been asking ‘Where is Ruth Kadiri from?' Ruth Kadiri state of origin is Edo State. She is the first child in her family and has a younger sister. According to one of her interviews, she used to live with her mother and sister, while her father lived outside Nigeria.

Ruth was not born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Her family was not poor, but they are far from rich, so Ruth knew a bit about money. She was brought up Christian, and she has stayed true to her faith until this day.

The actress has a degree in Mass Communication which she attained in the University of Lagos and a degree in Business Administration attained at the Yaba College of Technology.

Ruth has stated in numerous interviews that her love and interest for cinematography came to her at a very early age. She began writing while she was in secondary school. As a matter of fact, Ruth used to pay more attention to writing than acting.

But she soon discovered that both things go hand in hand, as during her first audition at Wale Adenuga Studios she met Victor Eze, the owner of a writing school. Ruth decided to perfect her writing skills and attended the school. After that, she wrote her first script titled ‘Wild and Dirty’, which kick-started her career as a screenwriter. Soon, she also started acting in the movies she had written, and things went on from there.

The movie that shot her into stardom was Boy’s Cot, where she starred alongside renowned stars, such as Nonso Diobi, Uche Jombo, Jim Iyke and Mike Ezuruonye. Since then, Ruth has appeared in over 50 movies, many of which she wrote herself.

In addition to being a gifted writer and actress, Ruth is also a philanthropist. A year or so ago she launched her own foundation called Ruth Kadiri Kids.
